Planning your treatment.

Where should I place the treatment?

Side walls: Place panels at the early reflection points between your speakers and listening position. From your seat, use a mirror along each wall to find where either speaker appears. Aim for balanced coverage on both sides.

Walls and corners: Deeper wall traps and corner traps add absorption for lower frequencies. Corner traps span the corner with an air space behind. The illustrated positions are a starting point; listening checks and measurements can help guide placement.

Ceiling: A cloud above the listening area helps control ceiling reflections and can be added to any setup. Confirm suitable fixing points and suspension before installing.

Should I treat the rear wall?

Yes, it is worth considering. The wall behind you can send reflections back to the listening position, particularly when you sit close to it. Absorption can help, with deeper treatment needed when targeting lower frequencies.

These illustrations show the front of the studio. Rear-wall treatment may be a useful next step, depending on your room and the distance behind your seat.

Can I adapt these setups?

Yes. Start with the treatment that addresses your main concern, then add more as needed. A ceiling cloud or rear-wall treatment can come earlier if your room calls for it.

Windows, doors and sloped ceilings may need alternative positions or custom sizes. Choose finishes on the product pages and check depth, dimensions and mounting if you substitute a different panel style.

Will this soundproof my studio?

Acoustic treatment helps manage reflections and sound decay inside the room. It does not replace the building work needed to prevent sound travelling to neighbours or other rooms.
